The Smithy Gallery & Clay Studio is a non-profit arts organization in Cooperstown, New York. Visit us at our Seasonal Art Gallery & Year-Round Clay Studio! As a non-profit art and education space the Smithy Clay Studio offers affordable classes and studio access where students of all ages make their own pottery and art with clay! 

Most classes and open studio registrations include a 25 lb bag of clay, access to our large andlight filled shared studio, wheels, tools, glazes, and firing. Extra clay is available for $35/25lb bag.

Mondays,  Wednesdays, and Fridays 1:30 - 4:30 PM, Thursdays 6:00 - 9:00 PM

Gift Certificates  

*Open Studio is open to experienced potters and clay artists for work on personal projects. No instruction is provided. Students must have studio experience at our studio to join.

Open studio is half-price with class registrations.
