Foam Clay Workshop August 9th

In this all ages Saturday workshop with Rita Payne participants will be using simple hand building techniques with an air-drying foam clay to create up to 2 small planters (succulents provided). Unlike most ceramics classes this class will give you a taste of hand building but you can take your colorful pieces home the same day!

Workshop participants can arrive anytime between 10am and 12pm. The workshop ends at 1pm but all work must be started by noon so you have time to finish.

$30 per person and includes materials. Kids and teens (under 18) are $15 but must be accompanied by an adult. 

About Rita:

After earning her BFA in Ceramics from Pratt Institute, Rita Payne established her studio, Beiko Ceramics, in upstate New York. With experience teaching and managing at The Smithy for several years, Rita has worked with individuals ranging from 1 to 100 years old. She also regularly leads community workshops across the state, and her ceramic work can be found in various shops and restaurants, domestic and international.
