Centering the Potter and the Clay (8 weeks)

Learn the basics of wheel throwing in this fun and relaxing evening class with Karla Andela. Stretching and breathing to shift from a busy day into a space of creativity. With attention to body alignment to increase safety, this class will practice making multiple forms on the wheel. Throwing, trimming, glazing, and some hand-building techniques are all included.

Please note the dates on this class. There is no class on August 25th and the last class is September 8th.

About the instructor, Karla Andela:
You may know Karla's sturdy and charming mugs which are frequently available as Stagecoach Coffee's signature mug for sale in the cafe. Karla has a degree in k-12 Art Education and went to Kripalu for Yoga Teacher Training in 2014. Karla has been a fixture at the Smithy Clay studio since 2011, sharing her melded love of throwing on the wheel and doing yoga with the community in her class, “Centering the Potter and the Clay”.
