Description

Make a custom layered fragrance and pour candles with Toni Hacker, founder and maker at Beacon Mechantile. Toni will cover using essential oils for candle making and building complex scents with base, middle and top notes. Participants will build their own custom fragrance for their candles and make a small bottle of scent to take home. Please bring your own finished ceramic vessels, glazed on the inside, and not larger than 20 oz to use for candles. If you don't have your own ceramic vessels then a glass vessel can be provided so you can still participate in the workshop. Depending on the size of your ceramic vessels participants can make 1 or 2 candles.

Toni says, "I've always loved fragrance and the way that scent can completely transport you to a specific place, set a mood, and create memories." Her business uses only certified organic ingredients as carriers in their perfumes, including organic sugar cane alcohol, vegetable glycerin, shea butter, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, and jojoba oil. Their small batch candles are hand poured and made with clean burning US grown soy wax, cotton and paper eco-friendly wicks, and richly scented with custom perfume blends. All candles are 100% phthalate, paraben, dye, and lead free so you can enjoy the relaxing glow of a flickering flame and keep your home healthy.
